Vivienne Westwood Internship
I complete a one month internship with the Visual Merchandising team for Vivienne Westwood in London. Apart from gaining a wider experience in trying different lifestyles, I learnt a lot by observing and by being surrounded by different departments and creative people. I had an amazing opportunity in helping out backstage for the London Men’s Fashion Week for Vivienne Westwood, and being able to meet Vivienne in person.
In addition to this, I had the opportunity to create new window displays and a variety of different concepts for the brand and how it visually expresses itself.
I was also able to observe, listen and help both sides of the market, the movements in Europe and Asia and the difference between one another. What made this whole experience efficient was the fact that I have been able to work both in the office, creating visual concepts with InDesign/illustrator and Photoshop, and simultaneously go into the city and travel to all their three shops in London to recreate and improve their visual representation.
Below is an attachment of what we as interns were expected to provide at the end of each week, a comp shop of certain display performance in which they gave us a list at the start of each week. We then were expected to present these analysis and concepts to the VM team and provide a variety of ideas of visual merchandising.
